# Filling In Values

> How to write text, numbers, dates, times, yes/no, units and descriptions so that every cell is accepted, and what an empty cell means.

> **Draft brief for authors.** Replace with the final text; keep the structure. Mirrors the Introduction sheet's Values section.

**Page type:** Reference · **Audience:** Business user

**Contains**

- Text: no line breaks (except long texts) or invisible characters; keep codes with leading zeros in cells formatted as Text.
- Numbers: as usual (12.34 or 12,34 by regional setting); text pasted from elsewhere with a dot and no thousands separator; row 5 names the digits allowed.
- Dates and times: as usual or as text in the stated format; yes/no as TRUE or FALSE or the words of any shipped language.
- Units of measure: the code as SAP shows it in your language (KG in English); descriptions are written in your language.
- An empty cell or the word null means no value; a formula is uploaded as its result; an Excel error such as #N/A is reported.
