Messages and Troubleshooting
Every message MDM shows, by its code: connection and setup, authorization and licensing, upload findings, staging, processing and pause reasons, SAP's own messages, assistant messages; common problems and how to contact support.
Draft brief for authors. Section page. Reference tables keyed by the message code users see next to the translated text; the "fix" column is written by hand, the code and text columns are exported from the product's message bundles.
In this section
- How Messages Are ShownStrips, dialogs, toasts, the message column and assistant answers; the code next to the text; SAP's own words marked as SAP's; the support reference.
- Connection and Setup MessagesThe messages of the connection status and of refused background runs: code, meaning, who fixes it and how.
- Authorization and Licensing MessagesThe refusals for a missing role or add-on and for a used-up quota, and the role-collection sentence they carry.
- Upload FindingsEvery finding an upload can report, with an example cell, the value found, what the field expects and the fix.
- Staging and Mass Edit MessagesThe refusals of Staging Records and Mass Edit: a changed selection, too many rows, a field that cannot be edited, a Task a run owns, a Task that no longer exists.
- Processing Messages and Pause ReasonsThe refusals before a run, the pause reasons of a background run, and the error codes a record can carry, with whether it may be retried.
- Messages from SAPHow SAP's own refusals are shown, and the common ones per object family with their meaning and fix.
- Assistant and API MessagesConfirmation tokens, dry runs, search refusals, value-help answers and sign-in refusals an assistant or an integration can report.
- Common Problems and What to DoSymptom-first help: a missing tile, an empty list with a warning, codes without names, lost leading zeros, a record that stays Not Started, a paused run, a Task that disappeared.
- Contacting SupportWhat to collect before you write (support reference, Task ID, object, time, code, screenshot), where support references appear, and what support can and cannot see.
