Row Actions: Create, Change, Delete and SAP Operations
The Action column decides what a row does in SAP: change a record, create one, delete one, or run an SAP operation such as Install; each kind sends different cells.
Draft brief for authors. Replace with the final text; keep the structure. Mirrors the Introduction sheet's Row Actions section.
Page type: Concept / Reference · Audience: Business user
Contains
- The Action column: the codes, the names in your language ("Install", "Einbauen"), the legacy letters; a row without an action is a Change; an empty Action cell is a finding.
- Change: every column of the file is sent, a value sets the field, an empty cell clears it in SAP, a deleted column leaves it unchanged.
- Create: only the cells with a value are sent; SAP assigns the number where it does (equipment, partner counter, task list group); fields SAP takes only on Create.
- Delete: only the key columns; the record is deleted in SAP and the upload cannot undo it.
- SAP operations (Install, Dismantle, Deactivate, Activate, Set and Reset Deletion Flag, Install and Dismantle with Data Transfer, Create from Reference, Remove Package Assignment): the keys and the parameter columns; an operation SAP already shows as done is not sent.
- Links to each object's actions page in Objects and Fields.
